Waku Ghin Restaurant, Singapore
Highly revered as one of the best and most expensive restaurants in the world, Waku Ghin features in Singapore’s Marina Bays Sands. Blending European and Asian cuisine, celebrity chef Tetsuya Wakuda has risen from kitchen assistant to one of Australia’s greatest chefs. His love of the colour silver is reflected in the restaurant’s name which, in Japanese, signifies ‘rising silver’.
The eatery has won a plethora of accolades, including second place in The Miele Guide’s 2013 Award for the Top 20 Restaurants in Asia, and G Restaurant’s 2013 Award of Excellence.
Chef Tetsuya’s 10-course degustation menu features raw seafood such as Marinated Botan Shrimp with Sea Urchin and Caviar, offering both theatrics and cooking lessons to dining guests. Courses are cooked before the customers’ eyes on a teppanyaki grill, retaining freshness and flair. As the first appointed Sake Ambassador beyond Japan, Tetsuya is sure to provide the very best alcoholic accompaniments, including Australian chardonnay produced specifically for the celebrity chef.
The small and intimate setting of only four private rooms allows Waku Ghin to maintain its sophistication and exclusivity.
