The Plaza, New York

Overview

Located in the borough of Manhattan, New York City, The Plaza is a landmark 20-story luxury hotel recognised as a ‘Historic Hotel of America’ by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Designed by Henry Janeway Hardenburgh, the hotel was built in the style of a French Renaissance Châteaux and opened to the public in 1907. Steeped in history, The Plaza has played host to everyone from The Beatles, to writers F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway.

Decorated with rich fabrics and custom designed furnishings, the hotel offers guests a selection of four room types that range from Signature to Plaza. Suites range from the Edwardian Park, which offers a separate living area and powder room, to the Royal Plaza, a one-of-a-kind suite that provides everything from three bedrooms and bathrooms, to a dining room that accommodates up to 12, and an en suite gymnasium.

Onsite dining includes The Palm Court, a restaurant made famous as a setting in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s famous novel The Great Gatsby. Featuring castle-like fixtures the grand dining room is the perfect place to enjoy a sumptuous dish prepared by coveted chef Johnny Franco. Other dining options include The Champagne Bar, where guests can enjoy the world’s finest Champagne, caviar, and wine, overlooking Fifth Avenue and the Pulitzer Fountain.

Offering a wide variety of health and beauty therapies, the Caudalie Spa is open exclusively to hotel guests. With fourteen treatment rooms, a Vichy shower, a private VIP room, Turkish baths, and a French Paradox Wine Lounge, guests can expect to enjoy a selection of unique remedies and treatments.
