Located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong, The Peninsula is the flagship property of The Peninsula Hotels group. Combining traditional luxury with modern sophistication the hotel features 300 rooms, eight fine dining facilities and a wellness spa.
Founded by the Kadoorie family, the hotel was opened in 1928 under the idea that it was to be “the finest hotel east of Suez”. In 1994 the hotel was renovated and expanded to include a 30-storey tower built in the same style as the rest of the building. Today the hotel is one of the most popular in Hong Kong and plays host to an illustrious troupe of cliental.
Guestrooms range from the standard Superior Room to the immaculately presented Peninsula Suite that includes everything from a kitchen and marbled bathroom, to its own private balcony overlooking Victoria Harbour.
Restaurants include The Verandah, which offers exquisite colonial cuisine, Gaddhi’s, which provides a selection of French influenced dishes in classical, elegant surroundings, and Spring Moon, which serves traditional Cantonese cuisine in a 1920’s setting. In addition The Lobby provides a relaxed environment for afternoon tea, while the Salon de Ning offers live music, ambience and the chance to sample a selection of cocktails.
The Peninsula Spa, which features 14 treatment rooms overlooking the harbour and surrounding city, offers guests a “sensory adventure”, and the chance to revitalise body, mind and soul. With an indoor pool, sun terrace, sauna and steam room, as well as onsite advice from a team of personal trainers, guests can experience varying levels of exercise and relaxation, depending entirely on their person.
