The king of macaroons, Lanvin Meets Ladurée

Ladurée is a luxury cakes and patisserie brand based in Paris and is famed as being the king of macaroons, 15,000 of which they sell every day. Their patisseries are found all over London, including Harrods, enticing visitors at the top of Burlington Arcade and distracting even the keenest of shoppers in Harrods. Ladurée continually are introducing new flavours and looks to their ever expanding pastries and in 2012 they vowed to create fashion inspired, mouthwatering delights. And so they roped in Lanvin designer, Alber Elbaz, to art direct a special macaroon set.

Exuberant designer, Elbaz, has collaborated with Ladurée’s head pastry chef Vincent Lemains and inside the delectable boxes you will find eight pink bubblegum macaroons – a brand new flavour which Elbaz describes as, “the bubble of childhood”. The collectable boxes are covered with playful sketches of women’s face creating a fun an exciting box of goodies beautifully finished with a red grosgrain ribbon. The fashion house Lanvin has commented saying, “The Lanvin creations of Alber Elbaz not only make women beautiful, but also prove that sweets and beauty can go hand in hand.”

Alber Elbaz is not the only designer who has been fortunate enough to mix passions of food and fashion together, the Ladurée brand has worked with the likes of Christian Louboutin, Matthew Williamson, John Galliano and Marni. The Lanvin collection will first be launched in Paris in time for their fashion week and then subsequently these uber-stylish treats will be up for grabs at the end of September in London.
