Temple Restaurant, Beijing

Temple Restaurant is housed in both the Songzhu Temple and an old television factory, its contemporary design by Australian architectural firm Hassell has emphasised light and clean modern lines to contrast with the building’s former function. Its history extends over 600 years in conjunction with the Temple Hotel, which still features vestigial slogans from the Cultural Revolution.

TimeOut Beijing has bestowed Belgian chef Ignace Lecleir’s restaurant with Food Award Winner in both 2012 and 2013. Another highlight is the the restaurant’s excellent service which ‘kills you with kindness’ according to food critic Lillian Chou.
