The Raffles Hotel features the Long Bar, birthplace of the Singapore Sling, the world-famous cocktail concocted in the early 19th century by Ngiam Tong Boon, a Hainanese bartender. A shopping arcade, museum and tropical garden courtyard also feature within the Raffles, maintaining its fusion of the old and the new.

Extensive restoration in the late 1980s allow today’s guests to re-envisage the Belle Epoque of Singaporean luxury. Spacious and open rooms range from Courtyard Suites to the luxurious Presidential Suites, all with extended 14-foot ceilings and handmade carpets in order to create the perfect romantic getaway within the city-state.
