The presentation of 24 awards recognises emerging artists in theatre, dance and film, who hail from cities and states across America to receive their honour at the glamorous black tie ceremony followed by dinner, dancing and an exclusive silent auction.

In addition, the awards recognize a prominent leader in the arts whose own accomplishments inspire the next generation of artists with the prestigious Prince Rainier III Award. In past years, this Award has been bestowed upon Julie Andrews, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Glenn Close, George Lucas, Mandy Patinkin, Twyla Tharp, and Denzel & Pauletta Washington.
