“Nelson Mandela: The Long Walk to Freedom”, 23 January -10 February 2014

Overview

Renowned for its great showcase of both Britain and international artists, Belgravia Gallery is going to extend its current exhibition – “Nelson Mandela: The Long Walk to Freedom”.

Combining acute political topicality with the boldness of contemporary art, this current exhibition which showcases its collection of powerful artwork by Nelson Mandela to commemorate his extraordinary life.

Exhibition features such rare artifacts, as original drawings of Robben Island where Mandela was imprisoned, hand written pieces that explain Mandela’s motivation behind particular pieces and a signed and illustrated copy of Mandela’s book, The Long Walk to Freedom. In addition, images of his beloved South Africa and photography from throughout his life by celebrated photographer Jurgen Schadeberg are on display.

Located in the heart of London art district, in the close proximity to fashionable Piccadilly, Belgravia Gallery holds impressive collection of numerous forms of art, from paintings to lithographs and from sculpture to photography. The artists, whose work is featured there, range from Andy Warhol to HRH The Prince of Wales.
