Michelin-starred Apsleys at the Lanesborough
Opened in September 2009, Apsleys, a Heinz Beck Restaurant is the first restaurant outside Italy created by internationally renowned chef, Heinz Beck, holder of three Michelin stars at La Pergola in Rome. Heinz Beck soon earned the restaurant its own Michelin Star, when in February 2010 it became the fastest London establishment to be bestowed with the award and maintained this award onwards.
Apsleys’ stunning Venetian-style dining room, with its glass roof and plush upholstery, is one of the most beautiful spaces for dining in London, an elegant setting for any occasion. Overseen by Beck and his hand picked brigade of chefs, the majority of whom are Italian and many of them have worked under Beck for many years.
The Lanesborough and Heinz Beck are delighted to announce that Beck’s protégée and number two at Three Michelin starred La Pergola in Rome, Heros De Agostinis, has taken over the reins of Apsleys, a Heinz Beck Restaurant in London.
Beck will continue spending much of his time in London, overseeing the work in the kitchens of Apsleys and working closely with Heros and the rest of his handpicked brigade of chefs, the majority of whom have worked for him for many years.
Heros started his culinary career with an internship at Beck’s Three Michelin starred La Pergola in Rome in 1995 and has worked for some of the world’s most impressive chefs, including Three Michelin starred Heinz Winkler and Marc Veyrat. In addition, he ran the kitchens at Hotel Zirmerhorf in Italy, where he was Chef de Cuisine, and both Hotel Kempinski in both Indonesia and Slovenia, where he served as Executive Chef. He returned to La Pergola in 2009 and has spent the last three years as Beck’s culinary right hand man.
