Foça, Beautiful Beaches and Ancient History

Foça is an idyllic town on the Aegean coast which has become a popular luxury holiday destination due to its stunning natural beauty and magnificent ancient ruins. The modern town of Foça is built on top of the ruins of the ancient Greek city of Phocaea, and the remains of that city can be seen dotted around the town. The most well preserved sites from the Phocaean period are the ‘Devil’s Baths’ and the ‘Stone House’, both are impressive monumental tombs carved out of the rock.

The region is also so unspoiled that some of Foça’s beaches have been given a ‘Blue Flag’ award, indicating that they are some of the cleanest waters in the Mediterranean.
