Paros, The Marble Island

Paros is one of the most popular Greek islands, after Mykonos and Santorini. In ancient times Paros was known for the high quality of its marble, a history which is still visible today in the magnificent white buildings of its towns and the impressive Venetian port from its time as a key trading post.

The architecture of Paros has been well preserved, and there are a variety of attractions, ranging from ancient archaeological finds to the Venetian castle to the Byzantine churches, which show the development of Paros through the ages. Of course, Paros also has plenty of beaches, and its status as a popular holiday destination means that there are plenty of activities on offer.
