Cala Fornells, The Fishing Village

The village of Cala Fornells was originally founded to serve the castle erected in the 16th century as a defense against the Barbary pirates, for whom Fornells Bay provided the perfect safe haven. The bay of Fornells contains four virgin coves and three small islands. It has become known as a traditional town of fisherman filled with fishing boats, and magnificent yachts. Its natural harbour is filled with llauts, the traditional Minorcan fishing craft used to fish lobster.

For those looking for some adventure and activity, this island offers many things to do such as horseback riding, cycling, hiking, adventure sports and the list goes on. But if you are looking to relax, eat well and enjoy peaceful days from the comfort and privacy of your yacht or the warm beaches, this beautiful island will not disappoint you.
