Kick Off The Ski Season This December With A Stay At The Stunning Chalet Lodge In Verbier
The Lodge is Sir Richard Branson’s stunning nine bedroom chalet in Verbier, Switzerland, one of the Alp’s most exclusive resorts and Europe’s hottest ski spots. Situated on a quiet road just 250m from the main ski lifts and backing onto one of the returning pistes, The Lodge is in a perfect location for the slopes.

General Manager Hannah Allen (with the help of her twelve staff), will ensure every need is catered for by offering the highest level of service and attention to detail perfected from their years on Necker Island. The Lodge itself provides a unique and fun setting: try some curling on the mini-ice rink, swim in the indoor pool, be pampered in the spa, or just relax after a day on the mountain whilst enjoying a wide selection of tailored menus and fine wines. Whether you need us to entertain the kids or fix a perfect gin and tonic, leave it to us; The Lodge will provide the perfect year-round escape.

Location: The Lodge is perched high in the Swiss Alps in a forested area just a five minute walk from the town of Verbier, and only 250m from the main lift station. If in winter you find walking in ski boots too difficult, we’ll be happy to drop you off, and you can ski straight back home as The Lodge is on a returning ski run. Verbier is 51 miles, or 82 kilometres east of Geneva as the crow flies, but the mountains and Lake Geneva tend to get in the way if you’re driving! Head due west from Verbier and you eventually reach Lyon in France. Zurich is to the northeast, and Milan is to the southeast.

Guest Accommodation: The Lodge can accommodate up to 18 adults in 9 bedrooms and up to 6 children and young adults in a specially designed bunkroom. Rates during the winter season are quoted for seven nights’ exclusive hire of The Lodge for 18 guests, and are priced in Swiss Francs. You can reserve individual rooms at The Lodge during the winter season if the chalet has not been booked for exclusive use six weeks prior to your arrival date.

Facilities and activities at The Lodge: In winter of course it’s more than likely
you’ll be spending plenty of time on the mountain, but when you get back to The
Lodge, there’s still plenty to do! Pull off those restrictive ski boots and relax in the lounge in front of a roaring fire curled up on a comfy sofa. Or if your muscles ache, take a dip in the indoor heated pool, or warm yourself up in the indoor or outdoor Jacuzzis. Later on, tuck in to some of the exquisite dishes from our kitchen – order what you want, or let us surprise you! You can even watch our chefs at work and pick up some tips while you try a few glasses of red or white from our wine cellar. Once a week you can listen or party to live music from one of our talented local musicians.

The Lodge also has a fully equipped gym, a steam room and a party area. You can shoot some pool or dance the night away all underneath a twinkling disco ball. If you want to take it easy we can pop on a film for you and your friends or family on the large plasma screen (we’ve got a great selection of DVDs) while you enjoy a few drinks from the bar. There’s even a private ice rink, so if you think your child could be a candidate to join the stars in ‘Dancing on Ice’, why don’t you send them for a twirl?

Activities on the mountain: For the avid skier or snowboarder Verbier is paradise. There are five resorts spread across four valleys, all of which are tied into one single lift pass, offering you one of the largest skiable areas in the Alps – for all levels of skiers. If you want to slow it down there are also four kilometres of cross-country skiing trails around The Lodge, as well as some great snowshoeing trails. For the ultimate rush, Verbier has a 10km tobogganing run for adults and children alike. For a spectacular view of Verbier and the mountains, try paragliding! And that’s not forgetting the après-ski scene. Verbier has a great selection of shops as well as some fabulous bars, restaurants, and nightclubs.

Dining: The food served at The Lodge is one of the highlights of your stay, and we serve a mix of Swiss and international cuisine. Dining can be as formal or informal as you wish, from full four-course gourmet meals to healthy meals with the children. Meals can be themed, traditional or a mix! Ask us for some ideas or give us yours. We stock a great range of international wines, top quality spirits, international beers and excellent house champagne.

Spa treatment room: After an active day on the slopes, there’s a good chance your muscles will be aching after all that effort. Relax and unwind with a treatment in the spa in the capable hands of our resident beauty therapist; ask for a detailed list of all our treatments. Treatments are not included in the normal rates.

Children: The Lodge is a great place for a family holiday as we have plenty of things for children to do. Children of all ages will be invited to take part in The Lodge Rangers. The Lodge has a kid’s bunkroom which can accommodate six children. We can also arrange babysitting for an extra charge; just give us at least 24 hours notice. Please note that during peak weeks and school holidays, we may need more notice to ensure that we can get hold of babysitters. Special food and beverages or simple snacks and light meals can be prepared.
