Jaguar

Overview
The company that evolved into Jaguar was called Swallow Sidecars and was set up by Sir William Lyons and his neighbour, William Walmsley in Blackpool in 1922. As they moved from building sidecars for motorcycles to building cars, the name changed in order to reflect the power and sleek design they represented, and so Jaguar was born. Jaguar was a massive success at the 1951 Le Mans and in claiming four more trophies at the prestigious competition over time, Jaguar had proven itself a worthy competitor and a force to be reckoned with.
After the successes at Le Mans, Jaguar launched the E-Type in 1961 which was hugely popular and 70,000 E-Types were made.
Today the Jaguar brand has a very large base of different cars ranging from high-performance supercars such as the XKR-S, to classy family sedans with a wide range of engine sizes such as the XF and the XJ-ranges.
