Overview

The International Debutante Ball is regarded as the most prestigious and exclusive debutante ball in the world.

The invitation-only formal debutante ball, presents young ladies from upper-class families to high society. The Ball was founded in 1954 by Beatrice Dinsmore Joyce and occurs biannually. Held in the beautiful Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria in New York, the event represents young American womanhood.

Young ladies of America and the international elite are formally presented into society. A total of seventy-five countries have been represented at the Ball, with France, England, Italy and Germany being represented most frequently.

The evening begins with the receiving line in the Astor Salon, where guests meet the debutantes and press and candid photos are taken. Cocktails are served followed by premium dinning and dancing in the exquisite setting of the Ballroom. Each debutante is presented, one at a time, accompanied by a young man in white tie and tails.
