Forthcoming Christie’s Auctions

If you’re an avid antique collector, then the upcoming auctions at one of the world’s most famous auctions houses will be of great interest. Acclaimed auctioneers Christie’s has a variety of auctions over the next few days, with a wide range of items catering to every taste. Most notable is the Post-War Contemporary Evening Sale happening in New York at the Rockefeller Plaza on the 8th November. Highlights of the auction include a selection of vibrant prints by two of the most eminent pop artists in history, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.

There are equally desirous items for sale in South Kensington, London on the 9th November, with the Christie’s Interiors auction. There will be a plethora of Chinese ceramics among the lots, including a large, 19th century blue and white Chinese dish decorated with the eight Buddhist emblems as well as lotus flowers. In addition to this, one of the lots comprises of three Chinese bronze mirrors estimated to be from the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Each has a unique design, including one which has a tree, shrew and grapevine decoration molded to the side of it, the second consisting of a central animal-shaped loop within a band of birds and a sunburst, whilst the last consisting of a peaked loop encircled by two bands or archaic script. 

Ever wanted to be as glamorous as a film star? Now you can with the jewellery collection due to be auctioned at Christie’s in New York in December. The jewellery that once belonged to the late Elizabeth Taylor is sure to rouse immense interest among buyers, with one of the highlights including a stunning diamond ring worth in the region of $2,500,000 – $3,500,000.
