Bolshoi Ballet Sleeping Beauty, 5 – 9 Aug 2013

Overview
Ballet the ‘lyrically beautiful dance’ resembles waves in the ocean or currents of air. When human warmth and beauty become a part of this idealized motion and grace then a much greater sensation. A living, loving dimension adds immeasurably to the overall wonder of the Bolshi Ballet.
The tale of an ill-fated princess in an enchanted sleep and the magical power of a prince’s kiss is brought to life through Tchaikovsky’s score. The Bolshoi Ballet presents The Sleeping Beauty to Covent Garden audiences as part of its Golden Jubilee season at the Royal Opera House.
With Tchaikovsky’s incomparable music and sumptuous costumes by Franca Squarciapino donned by such great stars as Maria Alexandrova, Maria Allash, Nina Kaptsova and Semyon Chudin are danced across spectacular sets by the celebrated Italian art director Ezio Frigerio providing a brilliant visual feast. All of these factors make it a must see event.
