Bayern Munich v Arsenal, Champions League, 11 March 2014, Private Hospitality & Tickets

Arsenal FC’s campaign has ended in the round of 16 in the last three campaigns and to end that run they must overcome 2012/13 conquerors FC Bayern München.

Arsenal FC will be looking to end their last 16 losing streak when they renew acquaintance with FC Bayern München, last season’s UEFA Champions League winners and the side who ended their hopes 12 months ago.

The London team, in the knockout phase for the 14th successive year, went down 3-1 at home to Bayern last season and bowed out on away goals despite a 2-0 success in Munich. Arsenal were eliminated by AC Milan in 2011/12 and Josep Guardiola’s FC Barcelona the previous season, losing both ties 4-3 on aggregate.

Bayern, meanwhile, had their ten-game UEFA Champions League winning run – a competition record that started following that second-leg defeat by Arsenal – ended on matchday six by Manchester City FC.

Last season’s contest at the Arsenal Stadium was always heading Bayern’s way once Toni Kroos and Thomas Müller had fired the visitors into a 2-0 lead within 21 minutes. Lukas Podolski scored against his former side but Mario Mandžukić made the final score 3-1.
