Supercar Sales, Aston Martin One-77

Overview
It has been voted “The world’s most beautiful car” several times by many different magazines and organisations. The One-77 is not only nice to look at, it’s quite the racecar, featuring a 7.3L V12 engine with a maximum output of 750 bhp. It is Aston Martin’s answer to the Bugatti Veyron, only the Aston is a lot rarer with production limited to 77 units.

Overview
According to Aston Martin the One-77 was not designed to brake records or to be all about the performance numbers. Undoubtedly its performance is impressive but that was not the central idea, the main point was to build a car that brought all the things Aston Martin stands for, together in one vehicle.
The One-77’s 7.3L V12 engine, is the worlds most powerful naturally aspirated engine, producing 750 bhp. It is a developed version of the normal Aston Martin 6.0 L V12 engine. Chris Porritt, One-77 Programme Manager, said in a pre-production press release that “Our brief to the engine team was for them to take the 6.0-litre V12 as far as it could go, both in terms of output and weight reduction. The targets were a power output of no less than 700bhp with a 10 per cent reduction in engine mass. Incredibly, the Aston Martin and Cosworth engineers achieved a mass reduction of some 25 per cent, and although we’ve yet to complete the final engine calibration work, I’m confident we’ll see in excess of 700bhp. It’s an awesome accomplishment, but one that’s typical of the One-77 project, for it has consistently brought out the very best in everyone involved,”
Furthermore the new supercar uses a strengthened version of the DB9’s 6 speed automated manual gearbox and in terms of dimensions it is shorter than the DB9 and even lower than the Vantage which means it takes corners like no other Aston Martin. The fact that it is only a few centimeters narrower than a Hummer H1 only adds to the great handling.
Interior-wise it sports a very stylish finish where almost everything is hand-crafted. According to the company the interior “is inspired by a minimalist approach with every item designed for purpose. The interior design reflects of the beauty of the carbon fiber monocoque, leaving large areas of carbon exposed. The ergonomics of the car create the ultimate environment for the enthusiastic driver. The driver sits very low and slightly behind the center of gravity with few distractions to interrupt the enjoyment of driving.”
